Mental Health Ketso Session

Our farming isn’t just about growing crops, it’s about nurturing the mind as well as the body, the two go hand in hand. I learned a few years ago that working outside on the land with my hands growing food had massive affect on how I felt.

Yesterday a group of us we’re asked to give our opinions about current mental health services and how they might be improved in the future. My colleagues are an amazing group of people with a set of diverse skills and experience so it was an enlightening experience working with them through this exercise.

Hajra who is working for West Lancashire Council for Voluntry Services on secondment from Lancashire’s Care Commissioning Group held the session in our barn on the field. She was happy with the range of opinion that she received and enjoyed working with us.

Generally our group was big on ideas for preventing mental health problems and feel this is where the biggest gains are to be made.
