Be part of our community and enjoy our nature-rich environment to improve your mental and physical health, through socialisation, physical activity, and group learning.
Burscough Community Farm grows more than just food. We grow friendships, community and an individual’s personal confidence.
Over the last few centuries – which is a tiny fraction of human existence – we have become increasingly disconnected from earth and nature. Reconnecting with nature can have massive mental health benefits for many people. Our solution is to help people reconnect with the land and nature through activities on the farm.
Because of the social nature of the farm, you get the opportunity to work with others, which also brings enormous benefits.
We know this works from our evidence and numerous other theoretical research studies.
Burscough Community Farm offers three simple routes to reconnecting with nature.
Three ways you can connect with nature through Burscough Community Farm
- Nature-based Based Arts and Crafts
- Growing and Consuming Healthy Food
- Walking and Observing Nature
By taking part in one or more of these activities, you can get back to nature.
By working on the land with others, you get the added benefit of socialising, which helps many people’s mental health.
Temporary Website
After ten years in existence, we’re currently going through a process of re-developing the farm. We’ll be re-focusing our activities on helping people deal with anxiety and other mental health issues. We’ll still carry on growing organic food and all the other great things we do.
Expect a series of new announcements over the next few months as we put plans in place for the next ten years of Burscough Community Farm.
