Mindful Movement Workshop – Sunday 17th June

Cultivate: Mindful Movement Workshop – Sunday 17th June – 11:00-13:00

This short workshop series on the theme of Mindful Movement is for anyone who enjoys walking in nature and cultivating self-awareness.

The relaxed, informal sessions will include simple exercises to help connect the breath with the body and the natural rhythms of the environment at the farm.

Among other things we will:

  • explore balance, posture and alignment, and how these things contribute to our state of mind and are linked with the external environment;
  • utilised everyday movements such as walking, kneeling, and other movements we commonly do at the farm;
  • seek to develop a simple meditative practice through walking, stillness and observation.

We will also have reflective time in which to share our experiences of the workshop, and above all, we wish to nurture a sense of relaxation and enjoyment.

The sessions will be led by Molly Jaeger and Rose Billinge, both experienced movement teacher/practitioners. All participants are welcome, and it is not necessary to have any kind of prior experience of movement practice (e.g. yoga).

CULTIVATE is a research collaboration between BCF and Edge Hill University, exploring how the arts can enhance and deepen our relationship with our natural environment. We aim to support the core aims of BCF with its focus on community, sustainable agriculture, nurturing the natural environment and promoting health and wellbeing.

We will also be welcoming back our favourite caterers, ‘Give Peas A Chance’, who always put on a tasty vegetarian spread for us.
