Feeling isolated, lonely, or disconnected? Are worries about your health, job, or confidence weighing you down? Maybe you’re struggling to find a way forward? We provide a welcoming space where you can find solace, connection, and understanding.

Nature Works by improving your mental and physical health.

We reconnect with nature three ways on the farm:

  • Nature-based Based Arts and Crafts
  • Growing and Consuming Healthy Food
  • Walking and Observing Nature

Find out the different ways you can benefit from being part of our farm community and take the first steps in getting involved.

What is the farm like?

Watch this video to get a better idea what the farm is like and what kinds of activity we do here.

Why 'nature' and how can you benefit?

Over the last few centuries – which is a tiny fraction of human existence – we have become increasingly disconnected from earth and nature. Reconnecting with nature can have massive mental health benefits for many people. Our solution is to help people reconnect with the land and nature through activities on the farm. We call it Green Social Prescribing.

Because of the social nature of the farm, you get the opportunity to work with others, which also brings enormous benefits.

We know this works from our evidence and numerous other theoretical research studies.

How can you get involved

Volunteering

The farm isn’t just for Green Social Prescribing. Prevention is better than a cure. We have a wide community who take part in many different aspects of running the farm.

You can volunteer at Burscough Community Farm. Find out how and why here.
